Who we are
Kitten’s Knives began life in the United States as a small, farmer’s market knife sharpening business.
I began knife sharpening during Covid lock-down as a private hobby. The hobby grew until I realized I could afford to quit my day job and begin sharpening full time for my friends, neighbors, and local businesses.
I use hand tools rather than machines to cause minimum of wear on knives. Using hand tools is vastly more satisfying and can produce finer results than machine sharpening, preserving knives for a life-time while keeping them razor sharp.
The picture at the right is of myself and my mother sharpening together at the Monroe Street Farmer’s Market.
At 75 years old, my mother decided to learn sharpening and open her own business in Franklin, North Carolina. I taught her to sharpen and we sharpened together when she visited me in Wisconsin.
I am 40 years old and freshly moved to Lithuania seeking a new home.
Kitten’s Knives is a reference to the long-time mascot of my businesses - Knife Kitty. Look for her in my Instagram.
